1. Data We Collect

With Your Permission:

• Strava Activities: Run data (distance, date, duration) to assign to sneakers

• Strava Gear: Sneaker names and mileage from your Strava account

• Profile Info: Name, email, height, weight, gender (for personalization)

Automatically:

• Bluetooth Sensor Data: Timestamps from Snap devices (stored locally)

• App Usage: Crash reports, performance metrics (opt-in only)

Optional:

• Email Address: For waitlist notifications only (you can unsubscribe anytime)

• Shipping Address: For hardware distribution (not stored after shipment)

2. How We Use Your Data

• Assign Activities: Match Strava runs to sneakers using gear IDs or Snap timestamps

• Sync Across Devices: Store your sneakers and mileage in the cloud

• Send Notifications: Alert you about Snap availability (waitlist only)

3. Data Storage

• Local: Run data, sensor timestamps, sneaker photos (on your device)

• Cloud: Account info, sneaker metadata, activity assignments (SneakerSnaps Server)

• Not Stored: Payment info (handled by Stripe/Shopify), passwords (hashed)

4. Third-Party Services

Strava Integration

When you connect your Strava account to SneakerSnaps, we access your activity data (runs, walks, hikes) and gear information through the Strava API. This data is used solely to assign activities to your sneakers and track mileage.

Important: Strava may monitor and collect usage data related to your use of their API within our application. This monitoring helps Strava maintain the quality and security of their platform. For more information about how Strava handles your data, please review Strava's Privacy Policy at https://www.strava.com/legal/privacy.

You can revoke Strava access at any time via Settings → 3rd Party Apps → Strava.

Other Services

• Google Custom Search: Used to find product images when you enter sneaker details. No personal data is sent.

• Analytics: None currently. Future opt-in only.

5. Your Rights

General Data Rights

• Export Data: Download all your sneakers and activities as JSON

• Delete Account: Permanently remove all cloud data (local data remains on device until app is deleted)

• Unsubscribe: Opt out of waitlist emails anytime

Strava-Specific Rights

• Export Strava Data: Download all activities within SneakerSnaps App imported from Strava by using (Settings → 3rd Party Apps → Strava → Export My Strava Data)

• Delete Strava Data: Permanently remove all Strava-imported activities to SneakerSnaps App while keeping your sneakers by using (Settings → 3rd Party Apps → Strava → Delete My Strava Data)

• Revoke Strava Access: Disconnect your Strava account in Settings → 3rd Party Apps → Strava

Per our agreement with Strava, if you delete an activity on Strava, it will be removed from SneakerSnaps within 48 hours.

6. Children's Privacy

SneakerSnaps is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We'll notify you via email if we make significant changes.
